SPARC Presentations

Presentations made at SPARC Workshops

The table contains most of those presentations made at SPARC workshops and recent KT-EQUAL workshops for which powerpoint slides are available on the SPARC website. Presentations to welcoming participants and introducing workshops have generally been excluded. The classification of the presentations is very approximate, items of interest my well be under an unexpected heading, especially because os many of the presentrations were from a multipdisciplinary user-orientated perspective!

There are four main sections:

1. Organisations involved with ageing research, Ageing Research in other countries and Perspectives of Various Stakeholders

2. The Home, Mobility, Inclusive Design and the Older Worker.

3. Understanding Health and Managing Conditions

4. Advice to the Research Community and Education.

Please note that presentations describing research with a design or engineering base and presentations with a biological base are not confined to particular sections but are distributed amongst the headings.

The SPARC Story

Welcome to SPARC and KT-EQUAL: Knowledge Transfer for Extending Quality Life

SPARC brings together researchers, practitioners and policy makers in ageing. It specialises in communicating the latest design, engineering and biological ageing-related research to all stakeholders, making the case about the benefits for an ageing population of scientific research, and it encourages new blood into ageing research. Although funding for SPARC ended in December 2008, SPARC is continuing to function from the University of Reading within a new initiative - KT-EQUAL which commenced in January 2009. Soon KT-EQUAL will have its own website but for the time being news and information about SPARC and KT-EQUAL events are being handled by the SPARC website.
