How to get to Reading Town Hall

By car is not recommended as parking in the centre of Reading is so difficult and expensive. The venue is very close to the station.

By rail The Town Hall is only two minutes walk from the station and a taxi is not required.

From London Heathrow LHR The Heathrow to Reading RailAir coach drops off at Reading train station - two minutes from the Workshop venue in the Town hall.

From London Gatwick LGW There is a train service from Gatwick to Reading.

Maps
Parking This is very difficult and extremely expensive in the Town Centre of Reading. There is a long term multi-storey Car Park at the rear of Reading Station but vacancies are not guaranteed. The short term car park under the station is wickedly expensive and always full. Don't use that. It does however have a few accessible car parking places, although they fill up fast and cannot be reserved.

The Town Hall is linked with the Museum and Art gallery in Blagrave Street, 2 minutes walk SE of the Train Station. See the black oblong mark on the map. The Town hall is on the left of Blagrave Street, on the left, just beyond Valpy Street.

The entrance to the event: before 10 am it is through the clock tower door. After 10am it is through the glass doors (nearer the station).

Reminder - do not go to the University Campus as the Town Hall is in the centre of Reading!

The SPARC Story

Welcome to SPARC and KT-EQUAL: Knowledge Transfer for Extending Quality Life

SPARC brings together researchers, practitioners and policy makers in ageing. It specialises in communicating the latest design, engineering and biological ageing-related research to all stakeholders, making the case about the benefits for an ageing population of scientific research, and it encourages new blood into ageing research. Although funding for SPARC ended in December 2008, SPARC is continuing to function from the University of Reading within a new initiative - KT-EQUAL which commenced in January 2009. Soon KT-EQUAL will have its own website but for the time being news and information about SPARC and KT-EQUAL events are being handled by the SPARC website.
