Maps and directions  The most helipful thing is to print off the map on page 2 - The University of Salford Campus Map. The Workshop will be held in Faraday House. This is Building 15 at the bottom right hand corner of the map. This is near the recommended Irwell Place car park. Should the car park be full at 12.30pm, the Attendant will direct you to another suitable park. Payment on exit att he end of the day. You can ask for a free Car Park Token at the Workshop reception desk (normally £3).

Travel directions  and accessible parking and routes

Salford Crescent railway station is near by and may be convenient for many of those who are attending but it has a steep ramped stepped approach and people with mobility impairments would be better using Manchester Piccadilly railway station and then taking a taxi to the University.

Please note that car parking is very limited and people often have to queue for spaces. Anyone requiring an accessible parking bay will need to contact the organisers well before the event so that arrangements can be made in advance with the security office.

The SPARC Story

Welcome to SPARC and KT-EQUAL: Knowledge Transfer for Extending Quality Life

SPARC brings together researchers, practitioners and policy makers in ageing. It specialises in communicating the latest design, engineering and biological ageing-related research to all stakeholders, making the case about the benefits for an ageing population of scientific research, and it encourages new blood into ageing research. Although funding for SPARC ended in December 2008, SPARC is continuing to function from the University of Reading within a new initiative - KT-EQUAL which commenced in January 2009. Soon KT-EQUAL will have its own website but for the time being news and information about SPARC and KT-EQUAL events are being handled by the SPARC website.
